Consterdine & Schofield
Unlike Fothergill or Harvey of Whittles, these two family names are not familiar to most people today except perhaps recalling Schofield’s Foundry at Durn.
However they did develop some important mills in Littleborough as well as in Heybrook, Buckley and Small Bridge.
This well illustrated booklet details the History of the families in Littleborough and Rochdale but only summarises the Manchester and Cheshire Consterdine’s. However if readers would like some details on that part of the family then email lborohist@gmail.com
