Welcome to Littleborough’s History
This website has been designed and produced by Bernard Pratt and provides Historical information using details and pictures from within the archive of The Littleborough Historical & Archaeological Society Ltd (LHAS) and my own researches
Information and pictures shown on this website are largely from the extensive Archive of the Society © plus Richard Greenwood ©, my own pictures © and others mentioned on individual pages ©. The details on each page are the result of extensive researches together with those of Society Members and others past and present, hopefully all happily acknowledged. I hope you find the website a useful source of information on the History of Littleborough and the surrounding areas of Calderbrook, Summit, Shore, Hollingworth Lake, Rakewood, Smithy Bridge and Dearnley. Check out the individual pages using the Navigation Bar. You can also find the Society on our facebook page via the links right.
The Society acknowledges the extensive researches of it’s past President, Peter Cryer, whose wife acknowledged that he spent more time in Touchstones than he did at home. Thanks Peter. As well as Alan Luke and Graham Pearson. The researches of Peter and Claire Bone also added to the Society’s Archive as have many others.
